There is an interesting parable in the Old Testament. It says that at one point in time Moses went to see King Pharaoh with a stick in his hand. He threw the stick on the ground and it became a snake. It says that the stick that became a snake was somewhat of a parable which was shown to King Pharaoh so that Moses would have all his people leave Egypt since they were there in bondage, as slaves.
There’s an interesting idea here about a stick versus the snake. A shepherd also walks around with a stick and so do some people, they just call it a cane. That stick helps them walk around and hang onto life without having to fall. In the olden days, aristocratic, people that were quite well-to-do also walked around with a cane, and they had all kinds of designs on them. Some of these canes can be found on the internet, and I invite you to look them up as they’re ornate designs and some, absolutely stunning. (more…)
