Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 924 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There was once a pianist who played very well and met a very famous pianist, and he asked him, “How are we so different? We both play very well but you are very famous and I am not.”

The famous pianist answered, “The difference between us playing, is the pauses, the silence, the space in between the notes. You have to know how to handle those.”

Sometimes, you meet people who have gone through life and are able to handle circumstances which seem to be so insurmountable.

What is the difference between someone who can overcome a challenge and one who can’t?

There are basically four approaches to life.

One is to fight, stand up and not accept it. Fight it until the last breath.

The other is when an obstacle, a challenge, or a difficulty occur, is to surrender and give up.

Another one is to run away, act as though it doesn’t happen, it’s not even there.

But there’s a fourth approach to life; and that is to rely and have trust in the Creator of the world.

This is something that will carry you over at any given time. It’s not about intelligence or wisdom, it’s not about faith or belief, it’s about trust.

Trust is above and beyond anything anyone can imagine, and rather than approaching life in a way which might be despondent or difficult, or even seems to be impossible to overcome, why not have trust?

Now, of course, at times you could fight. You might even want to surrender in certain circumstances or just walk away. But the best approach, is to always know your values and always be able to stand up with integrity and honesty for the person that you are, and the fundamental basics that you believe in. Those will never change and they will always stand by you. That is the proper approach in life. That is the difference also between one who succeeds and one who does not, like the pianists. It’s the pauses, meaning, to know how to look and reflect on a situation and ask yourself, “can I really not overcome that?” Am I that unstable or weak? And the answer is, you are not.

You can overcome them at any time; and I suggest that you do every time it happens.
