Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 343 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
You know, it is interesting to look at the definition of the word marriage. Marriage is actually any of the diverse forms of interpersonal union, which is established in various parts of the world. This union forms a familial bond that is recognized legally, religiously, and even socially. It grants the participating partners mutual conjugal rights as well as responsibilities.
A marriage is a challenge even with the best of circumstances. Even when two individuals share common and compatible heritage, culture, or value system they will have challenges regardless of the union. When these parameters diverge, the heritage, the culture, or the value systems—they come from a different direction or different destination, the challenges for a successful marriage drops to virtually nil. It makes no different whether the individuals in question feel attached to their heritage, or their culture, or not.
These characteristics are largely hereditary and feelings that can be easily triggered by any number of circumstances, often leaving the person surprised by the depth and the force of his or her attachment to the people. It’s quite amazing.
A person is so connected to where they come from and their heritage, that in a marriage, when things become challenging, they’re not sure they can stay together. So even an honest, rational person will not want to involve another person. Particularly another person towards whom they have feelings and affections and may not want to bring them into a relationship that can be questioned. Not to mention of course, the detrimental effect of inevitably such a marriage will have on children and the results from it.
Marital happiness is so important to value, that we have to be very careful. To depend on it and to ensure that it works, is based on the heritage that we come from.
The primary place to look for someone to marry is from your own background. Someone with whom you can truly have a union. This is so true. I know. I’ve been there. But this is the best way to do it, by finding that, your marriage will survive and will overcome any challenge at any given time. That is a guarantee forever.
