Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 112 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
There is an interesting concept about a field which needs to receive the benefit of the rain. Rain benefits only the plowed fields and fields that had been sown. Early and later heavy rains also benefit the crops of the field or even the vines, but a raised field and plowed, and sown, will benefit from neither the soft rain nor the early or even the later heavy rains.
The same is also with blessings. A blessing must have a hold in something. When you give a blessing to someone, the recipient of that blessing must be able to hold on to that blessing. They must want the blessing and they must be able to hold the blessing that you’re giving them in a way that their mind, their body, they’re soul accepts.
You can’t change people, that’s impossible. But, they can change themselves. Now you can help other people see themselves greater than they are; it’s a value and it’s a noble thing to do, but you can’t change them. When you bless someone, you have to bless them with all your heart, with all your might, with all your love. What they take from that blessing is up to them. Just like the field, unless it is sown or plowed, the rain can’t help. What can it do by itself? It will not help in any way, shape, or form.
When you speak to people or friends, or family members, your acquaintances, or colleagues and you want to give them a blessing, let them know. First, the blessing comes from your heart. Second, that you really mean it. Third, make sure that they know that in order for this a blessing to take effect and become part of them and help them, they “have to want it,” they have to wish it, they have to accept it.
The exception is when you visit a person who’s not well. Obviously, that person wants to get better. That visit alone takes away a little bit of their condition and makes it better, just by you being there. It’s a good thing to visit people who are not well. This is what life is all about, sharing goodness among one another continuously.
Now, take those things, take those ideas and put them into effect, and share them with other people. If you think that what you’ve heard is true, appropriate, necessary, or right, why not share it with other people whenever you have the time? That will be the right thing to do, and that will be a blessing.
