Negative self-talk is something which is truly burdensome for everybody. Think about it for a moment. What that means is that in your mind, for whatever reason, you say, “I can’t do this. I’m such a loser. I’m not good at this. I’ve made so many mistakes. Oh my goodness, I have two left hands. I’m not able to do this in the proper way. I will never reach that goal.” On and on, and on, continuously putting yourself down.

Why would you do that? You’ll say, “Well, it’s a fact, it’s the truth. Look, I can’t do it.” The truth is, if you are given a task and something comes to you, it’s not a haphazard circumstance. It’s not just a random happening. It is because you can do it. It is your opportunity to shine. This is your ability to do what you can do for this world. Now, you might impress yourself, but not if you keep on talking negatively. This negative self-talk can only be detrimental and destructive. It will turn you into a catastrophe instead of a remarkable person. By saying all these things, you’re only making it worse for yourself.

Why not say, “Surely, I can do this. And if I can’t succeed I can try again.” This can be done over and over again.

Speaking negatively about yourself, self-criticism in a chronic way or negative self-regard is not a good thing. It’s not a good thing at all ever; and it’s not necessary. Each and every person throughout this whole world deserves to live in peace and in love, both in a physical and spiritual way. The more we learn to overcome the negativity in our mind and overcome this inability to think positively about ourselves, the more we will fill our world with happiness and our hearts and our minds will blossom with goodness and strength, beauty, joy, and success. You will see that if you want to.

Negative self-talk is never ever a good thing. Get rid of it, stop it, and when it comes and it creeps up, ask yourself, “what if someone else was doing this about themselves or saying it about themselves, what would you do?”

You will actually tell them, why do you speak negatively about yourself? Of course, you can do it! You would try to raise them by lifting them and indeed, when you lift others, you, yourself rise. So don’t just give it as advice or a piece of mind or as a good word to another. Do it to yourself as well and get rid of all the negative self-talk.
