Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 412 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
At times, we have decisions that we have to make and we’re not too sure which direction to go. Interestingly enough, the grief that we cause ourselves in not making the decision or second-guessing our self, can be quite difficult to handle at times. Not only that, as it says, it’s the difference between a promise and a price. The price that we’re going to pay if we don’t keep our promise can be difficult. Regrets weighs literally tons while discipline weighs ounces. Think about that for a second.
Every decision we make is not only a choice for something but it could be a choice for something else; so we know, if there’s going to be that choice to be made, why be stuck in that action? Just act it. Don’t look to make the perfect choice, just a good one. What is a good choice? The one that you’re coming up with. But you said, “I don’t know, I’m stuck.” Don’t second-guess yourself. You have within you the ability and the power to overcome that challenge and that choice will be good. Focus on the things that will come up. Don’t worry about what might and might not happen, and if you have a question and you don’t know how to pursue it, then know that the Talmud says, “Why not discuss it with another?”
Share your doubt with someone and then from there, their experience, their knowledge might help you. Don’t think about “only if this happens and that happens, will I be able to make a choice?” Think about what your goal is and think about the best way to get there. This will get you what you want. Don’t regret, just act. The regret is what will set you back. The regret is what will hold you back and make you think that you’re not able to do it. Don’t let that bother you. You have to starve your fears and feed your dreams. The way to act today is just to move forward. You’re going to make some mistakes, that’s undeniable and equivocal. Yes, we know that. But everybody else does and everybody else recovers, and so will you. When you make a mistake, this is just an opportunity for you to step up to the plate and come up with a better alternative. That’s all, it’s as simple as that.
So the regret itself is what holds you back. The action is what will help you get through life in a successful way. Don’t think of regrets. Don’t think of the things that you cannot do. Think of the things that you can do and focus on just a portion of the action that you can take. Be disciplined enough, because the discipline weighs ounces but the regrets weighs tons.
