Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 492 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
There is a concept in life which brings peace to your heart and your mind. There is a word also that is associated with that, it is called serenity. Now, it is interesting that in the word serenity, there is another concept an attribute that characterizes what serenity is, and that concept is called patience. To have the patience to do what you need to do. Patience gives you calmness of the spirit, your own spirit. With patience, at any given time your inner experience is more like a still pond rather than raging rivers. Things can be quite complicated at times. But with patience, true serenity, you are able to stay calm on the inside no matter what is happening on the outside. There’s a certain composure, peace of mind, a stillness, a tranquility. There is calmness. You trust, if you reach that level, in your capacity to deal with whatever comes your way. And whatever the issue is, you can overcome it.
There’s yet another synonym for the word patience, interestingly enough; and it’s self-possession. Isn’t that interesting? With patience, it means, that you’re in charge of yourself. It’s self-possessing of your own being. It gives you the ability to put up, in a gracious way, any fight that you wish, against obstacles that come your way, any challenges. And it does it with courage and strength, with optimism and you can at any given time overcome all these obstacles. By having patience, you will create this true sense of serenity. I strongly suggest that you learn how to develop peace of mind and peace of heart, not only for yourself but for all those around you; something which many people will cherish. Being around a person who has calmness of the spirit or peace in their heart, makes you feel better. It’s quite amazing, whenever I meet someone who has this calmness, I myself, walk away feeling better about myself and about them.
Why not try to develop this calmness in your heart? You can do it. It may take steps, it may take nurturing, it may take time, it might even take for you to learn some developmental skills, but eventually you’ll come to it, and then there are no more limitations. It will give you the emotional resilience that you hope for. It will respond with kindness and you will feel the compassion of the world wherever you are, and I wish that for you from the bottom of my heart.
