Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 571 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
You know you are. It’s not always easy to accept and at times, we wonder who we are. Other people judge you, other people sometimes even define you or they put you in a box, tell you’re this way and that way. You might even find that some people try to mold you into what they think will be the person that you should be. But in reality, if you know who you are and if you know that what you’re doing is of value, is good, is appropriate, is decent, is genuine, is the right way, then accept it.
Accept who you are also tells us about the type of person that we wish to be. If you have made mistakes, don’t ponder upon them. Move on, accept who you are today. Don’t look at yesterday and all of these other opportunities that you may have missed. Accepting who you are means understanding the situation that you are in right now and live with that, make the best of it. Why worry? Why cry over something that could’ve been or should’ve been? Why not involve yourself in the present? You can also change that.
Remember, everything that’s passed, you have no control over. It’s already passed. It’s a page in your book that you can tear up and forget about. As for the future, none of us know that. None of us can predict it. What we can do, however, is live happy in the present, accepting what we have, what we know, who we are, and what we do. Let your mind dictate what you should be doing and follow your emotions. Your emotions will tell you a lot about what you’ve done and what you could have been. It says that there are two people in your life: the person that you are and the person that you could be; these two have to continuously be evaluated because if you pay attention closely to who you could be, then why not strive towards that?
Don’t let the person you could be, be just a thought, a dream, or a vision. Be that person, strive to change. Be the person that you not only would like to become, but be the one that will do everything that you dream about, and then accept it, and if you fail at times, that’s alright. We all fail but don’t be sad about it; you can be bitter. Bitterness will help you change. Bitterness will create the momentum in you to make a difference, but don’t be sad. Accept who you are because that is your life and we only live one time, and it doesn’t last long. If you want to know how long, think about the last 10 years of your life, how fast they have gone. That’s how fast the next 10 will go, so make the best of it, accept who you are, be the best that you can be, and enjoy it because it’s your life and it’s worth it.
