Omitting

I’m sure you’ve had the opportunity to use an email address.

Imagine though for a moment if in the email address, instead of putting the .com or .net, you would just decide to omit the dot and not use it. What would happen? Well, simply put, the message will never be delivered. Now, you might ask, what is a dot? Why wouldn’t the internet understand that this dot is useless? Although I’m not an expert in this field, it’s well understood that in order for the email to be sent and received properly, it has to have the exact address. It has to have all of the details including the dot. You cannot omit it. Even though it may seem insignificant or useless, or superfluous, you can’t omit it.

That’s what life is all about, actually. Sometimes, we see things in this world that seem to be superfluous or unnecessary. What is the point of a mosquito or a leaf that’s laying in the ground, or certain animals that we don’t understand or certain creatures? We sometimes even think of certain people that are, G-d forbid, called as parasites, people who don’t really make a difference.

Let me just say that every single thing in this world, be it an animal, a plant, or an inanimate object, and certainly every human being is necessary. There is nothing superfluous in this world. Similar to what we have today called the internet, omitting the dot would not make it in this world. Your message will just not get there. If you think you are omitting something or believe in something which is unnecessary, then you’re missing the point of the whole world. Everything was created for a reason, and not just a simple reason but an extremely important reason. So much so that if that component in the world was missing, the whole world would be affected and possibly not even exist. Quite incredible that everything in this world has been created for a reason and a good reason at that. Now, many of us sometimes don’t pay attention to details. When we say something to a friend or a spouse, or a sibling, we don’t pay attention to some of the words that we use even though they could be hurtful; why not to pay attention to that?

We also must pay attention when we send a message or do an action.

My father, bless his heart, always told me, do more on your job than you get paid for. That has always stayed with me. Always do more, regardless of what your benefit is going to be, just as long as it’s good for the benefit of the world, then do it.

So don’t omit the dot if you want the message to get across.
