Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 839 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Have you ever been around people who are grouchy?
It is interesting, tiring and certainly challenging way to live.
Here’s a concept that you might want to think about first before calling them “grouchy“. We really don’t know how people live. We don’t know what people’s experiences are.
You may say, regardless of how you live, why do you have to be grouchy? Why do you have to act that way? That is true, but some people, for whatever reason with something of their own, that is for sure, is the way they want to be. They want to be negative and they thrive on being negative. They’re just grouchy; just the way they act, the way they talk, the way they think, everything around them is grouchy. Here’s my recommendation to you; to try to change them may be very difficult; to try to uplift them may be even impossible. So if you’ve done your best, just to stay away from them.
These people want to live that kind of life, and if you can’t influence them to be better, to see the world as beautiful as it is or as wonderful as it could be, what can you do?
I met such a person on one of my recent travels who was sitting right next to me; she was just grouchy, complaining about everything: from the seat to the weather, about the politics of the world, from the time of the day to the temperature in the plane. Everything was negative.
I didn’t say a word. But, before we left the plane, after I tried to say things about this world and really what life is all about, she told with me that she had a difficult life and that she didn’t think she deserved it and therefore, she was bitter, grouchy, negative about everything. I understood her. Although, it was not the way to be or certainly not the right way to act, I understood her feelings and I let it be. I knew that me saying very little or just listening to her, was much better than creating much more than what she had already experienced, not adding fuel or an ambition to something like this. That’s just the way people are sometimes.
