There are times when you experience fear and it could be scary but then as it passes, you realize that it was nothing. So you ask the question, “Why did this happen? Why did I have to go through this experience?”

Now, you can use your mind and shape your fears if you want to. You have the opportunity to train your emotion so that when you can and you wish to, the fear itself becomes controllable, and when it’s necessary, you have the opportunity to go through the exercise of fear, but knowing how to handle it.

Now, there is a difference between a disposition and a mood. You see, a disposition is either the encouragement of the mind, or the discouragement of the mind. So what does that mean? Let me explain. There’s difference between sadness and joy. Sadness in a mood has no movement. When you’re sad, you can’t feel emotion. You’re sad and it is the disposition that prevents emotion. When a person is really sad, you can’t think; you don’t even care, so sadness is an absence of emotion. Joy on the other hand, is a mood that you’re in. It’s not outside of you. It describes the state that you’re in now. It’s open and the mind becomes more receptive. Sadness is like walking into a dark room, and in this dark room, you don’t know what to do. Now, we don’t use the darkness, and to get rid of it, all you have to do is turn on the light, and the darkness is dispelled, it’s gone. So sadness is the absence of joy or the absence of light.

So now that you understand this, realize that sadness, you do nothing. It’s stagnation and you could not serve any purpose. There is a void. With joy, however, you can do anything. There’s movement and it’s a normal everyday experience that you can have at all times. So why be stuck in sadness? Replace it with joy and then you can see a different aspect of life. “stagness” stops you. Interesting, isn’t it? See, when you combine the words stagnate and sadness, it’s a made-up word, it’s called “stagness”, although I don’t mean to belittle this concept. What this means is that you can live with joy, you can live with happiness, you can live with greatness, you can live with anything that you wish. You can experience growth, you can experience cultivation, you can experience renovation, you can reinvent yourself to be the person that you wish to be, and never be bothered or never be bogged down. That is the absence of an emotion, not knowing where to go. That’s when fear sets in. Overcome the fear, replace the sadness with joy and you will have a great life. You will have happiness. You will be the person that you wish to be and even this made-up word, “stagness”, won’t exist. After all, it is not even the real world so why not let it go and change it to what you need to have, and be the person that you always wish to be?
