Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 873 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
There’s a story of a person who passed away and when they got to heaven, they cried in front of the Creator saying that they didn’t get what they wanted while they were on earth. The Creator asked that person, “But you didn’t ask for these things,” and it occurred to that person that the remark was true.
In order to receive, you must ask.
Here is the beauty about prayer: asking for help is something that human beings have a right and the intelligence to do. So when you ask, first know that you have to ask with intelligence. Don’t ask for things that are ridiculous; ask for good things.
Now, you know what that means, and don’t ask while mumbling; be clear, be specific. Ask intelligently and ask for what you want and know how long it should be, how much, when, what size, what kind, what color. Define it. Know in your mind what you’re asking for and ask.
Well-defined goals are like magnets and the better you chisel them, the stronger they pull.
Second, make sure you have faith in what you’re asking but not faith only; faith and trust. Trust begins when faith ends, and faith starts where intelligence stops. So know where you’re going with that. Believe like a child, understand like an adult, and pray for what you want with the knowledge, faith, and trust that you will be answered.
Children can do anything because they have just these two concept, faith and trust. They don’t understand most of these things but to them it’s pretty simple, and they pretty much get what they want. Their curiosity is really a virtue and it’s such a blessing; they believe they can do anything. A child will say, “I’m going to become a doctor,” “or this, or that”, nothing stops them, nothing.
So be like a child when you’re asking but since you’re an adult, think intelligently and ask for the things that you need, ask for help.
The Creator is here to listen to you and help you, but if you don’t ask, how can you get? How can you be answered? What will you get? What you will get, at any time is a question. Know that you deserve so much and you will get it because you are good.
