Today is a very special day for me, it is my birthday. A birthday is a beginning; it is a window to the chance of a lifetime. It is the chance to fulfill a unique mission. Now, a birthday can also be celebrated with receiving gifts, gathering friends, and especially having a birthday cake. But, on this day, it’s also a chance to remember the day that the major event that started your life occurred years ago. Celebrate, give thanks, and reflect upon how well you’re doing for the calling that you’ve been given. G-d has invested a tremendous amount of energy once again, on your birthday. This very special day, my birthday, it’s exactly what He’s done for me, as well.
A birthday is a time to celebrate birth itself – the joy of life. It is also an occasion to rethink your life. How great is the disparity between what I have accomplished and what I can accomplish? (more…)

Bashful could mean shy, or maybe even embarrassed. Some people even say that a timid person could be called bashful.
But, there is a beauty in being bashful. By being shy, a person becomes more humble, more reserved and they watch. They watch what they say. They watch what they see. They watch where they go.
A bashful person is conscientious about who they are, and where they would like to be.
A bashful person is someone who has reservations about exposing everything to the world.
A bashful person is someone who knows their beauty and their inner strength and they only share it when it’s appropriate and necessary. (more…)

I would like to share with you a very important concept; something which has an unprecedented amount of reasons why it should be said and understood by everyone.
When you say a word, whomever you may be, wherever you are, whenever you say it, and whatever the word is, each word that you utter creates an angel. These are called “angelic words”. Each word has a celestial, heavenly, radiant, saintly touch to it.
Each word that you utter has the power to affect the whole world and even the whole universe. Every time you say something, whether it is a word you should be saying, or one you should avoid, it creates an angel. These angelic and absolutely ethereal beings, are truly powerful. Have you ever been in the situation where things are going quite well for you? The sun is shining, business is good, life seems to be at its ultimate peak. But, then you meet someone with an attitude, and you wonder, “Why does this person have an attitude?”
Let me suggest a way to look at this person. You have to think of that other person, and yourself, as a “work in progress”. None of us are “finished” products. We all have the timeless things that we have to work out in our lives. The things that we have to make better.
Let me relate a story to you that might illustrate it better. A person is walking in the street and meets someone on crutches, leaving a medical specialist’s office. The passer-by, could think that the specialist is actually not good. After all, this person came to the specialist, and was obeying all the doctor’s instructions, yet he still needs crutches. How is that possible? Now, imagine that it was explained to the passer-by that before the patient was in the doctor’s care he couldn’t move his feet altogether. He was completely paralyzed. The doctor actually reduced the paralysis, and he strengthened the patient to the point where he was able to use his feet. (more…)

Slander is a difficult character trait that naturally destroys so many people. Defamation disparagement, or smearing someone else’s reputation. This is absolutely and unequivocally a trait that a person should always fight against. There is something else that is related to slander and that is the “shade of slander”.
There are times when it’s really not quite slander, but it is similar. For instance, it is considered a shade of slander when someone speaks favorably about a colleague in the presence of his enemy. Because, this will surely prompt them to say disparaging things about that person. It’s also a category of a shade of slander when a person who relates slander in frivolity and jest when speaking about someone else. Even though it’s not hatred, just speaking in the way that is disparaging of another, is a shade of slander. (more…)
