Guard It

Guard It

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 712 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

We are told that when the world was created, two commandments were given: Guard and work.

What does guarding the world mean? It means making the world what it should be. The world has a purpose, and there are things to be fixed for it to become the ultimate place to live.

What about working? Working means preventing or stopping the world from being what it shouldn’t. This is really the purpose of men being on Earth: “To make the world what it should be, and prevent it from becoming what it should not.”

With these thoughts in mind you now have a different purpose. Because if this is the purpose of the world, then wherever you go, whatever you do, whatever you see, whatever you say, and whatever you think – should all be about you making the world what it should be. It is easy to know this, because the world has so many beautiful things to offer us. (more…)

The Deer

The Deer

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 711 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There are great lessons to be learned by watching various things in the world. Look at a deer. The deer has a particular characteristic, its hide does not constrain its flesh. The extremely taut skin of the deer does not inhibit its growth, but on the contrary, it adapts itself and conforms to it. What this means is that the priority must always be of quality over quantity.

At times, you will have decisions to make. There are things that you have been told or that you have learned to do properly. They may seem like restrictions at first, but they are the right decisions, and you know that. Yet, you may find yourself alone; the only one doing what is right, and you might ask, “Why should I do that? I’m the only one doing it.” (more…)

Times Change

Times Change

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 710 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

Often, it has been said that times change and with the changes of time, people should change. My opinion on this is, that times change but values don’t. Such as the value of gratefulness. Grateful for everything that happens in your life. That should never change, and if anything, it should become stronger. Or the value to pray daily, that doesn’t change either.

The value of knowing who you are, what you do, and the things that you’re capable of doing. Of setting standards of integrity, trust, and honesty. The concept of knowing your strengths and weaknesses while believing in yourself. Acquiring of a mentor, being honorable, living with happiness. Overcoming anxiety, controlling your anger, and understanding the difference between pride and arrogance. These values don’t change. (more…)

Against All Odds

Against All Odds

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 975 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

It is told about a gentleman whose name is Dick Fosbury, he was a high jumper, but instead of facing the pole in jumping with the feet first, somehow, he got the idea that he needed to throw his body over his head first with his face looking at the sky, and he said that, “I was told over and over again that I would never be successful and that this technique would never work.”

He was quoted in saying that and in fact, he was so criticized that the position got his name, “The Fosbury Flop”, but interestingly enough, despite the ridicule, Fosbury trusted that he was on to something that was unique and he kept at it. Then soon enough, at the Olympics in Mexico in 1968, the laughter stopped and Fosbury not only won the gold medal with his flop but he set a new world record, and today, believe it or not, all high jumpers use this technique and this is how a new concept was born. Conquer the World

Conquer the World

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 974 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

It is said that when Adam was created, according to the Bible, the Creator immediately apprised him of his powers and it gave him the purpose in life, and that was to replenish the Earth and conquer it. And he would have dominion over the fish of the sea and the fowl of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the Earth. Then he was given the power to conquer the whole world and to rule over it on land, on sea, in the air, and he was commended to do this as a task, but how does that work?

The word ‘conquest’ which was given to man as his task and mission in life is to elevate the whole nature, including the beasts and the animals, but needless to say, before a man can set out to conquer the whole world, he must first conquer within himself, his “earthly being”, his personality, and his inclination which is not as good or as Divine, his own nature.
