Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 911 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
The whole world benefits if we all leave more profit. You touch something and you leave it better than you found it.
Imagine going to a hotel room and spending the night there. When you are finished, the morning before you leave, you will turn off all the lights, you would pick up some of the trash that you had and put it in the trash bin. Then at the same time, straighten up everything, so that it looks as good or better than the way you found it.
I’m not saying making up the bed and finishing it as though it was ready for the next person. But imagine the parents, to touch a life and leave it better than they found it. This is how they raise children. The life came into being and they raise that child to become better than when they came to this world. They help them see themselves greater than they are.
Same thing for employees. Imagine, for an employee to “touch” a job and to come and work at a company, and leave it better than they found it. Leave it with a profit, leave it so that it makes more sense, so that it makes a difference. What kind of world it would be if everybody tried to leave it in a better condition than the way we found it? Imagine if we could all do this.
A person says, “I can’t stand paying my bills. Bills, it’s always about making sure that other things are paid. Why should I do that?” Is it possible to love paying your bills? The answer is yes. By paying your bills, you reduce your liability and you increase your assets. What a wonderful way to live, not having to owe anything.
So paying your bills is not something that is “bad”. It’s a matter of leaving it and finding it better afterwards. Leaving it the way that it was and turning it into something better. You found the bill, you paid it, and now, it is better.
If you could look at everything this way, and practice it on a daily basis, your life will change. Life is opportunity but life also has a price, and we all must pay. We all must share. We all must contribute to make this world a better place. The rewards, however, is that when we leave, when the time comes, we leave it better than the way we found it when we first got here.
