Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 133 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Once, when I was young, my parents gave me the pleasure and took us on a vacation; we were there by the ocean. They convinced me that it was a beautiful time to spend walking around looking at nature and enjoying the ocean.
But, I was young and determined to have a good time. I convinced them that we should go on a boat ride and my parents agreed, even though the weather was precarious at the time.
So, we went. The captain agreed that this was a possibly dangerous venture, because the weather did not permit such a journey at that time. But we did it anyway.
About thirty minutes into the trip, the boat started shaking and rocking and I became very, very frightened.
At that moment, however, the captain himself decided that we must go back to the shore – and so we did.
When we got off the boat my father took me in his arms and asked me why I was scared. I told him that I thought we were going to die.
He taught me a lesson which I’d like to share with you. This is what he said: “There is Someone above the earth, and above the world at times that we don’t always see, that cares for us. This is the Creator and no matter what, He will always be the Captain of the boat. It’s a journey, and life itself is a venture. Don’t worry and don’t be scared. Know that the Captain of the boat is always watching, even when there are stormy waters that you must overcome. You, basically, have to do what you’re supposed to do and let the Captain in charge do what He’s supposed to do. When the right time comes, you will understand.”
I have lived with that lesson for many years and I wanted to share it with you just in case you may need it. It helped me weather some of the tribulation many times and I hope it helps you, too, in your life’s journey.
