Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 552 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

Have you ever been in a situation where you wake up in the morning or sometime in the middle of the day, you say, “I just can’t take it anymore. It’s too much. It’s overwhelming. It’s beyond my capacity. I can’t handle it”?

Are you in a situation and feel like you are drowning in your own issues today? When you feel enveloped in a deep pit of despair, when your heart is shredded into millions of pieces, when you just can’t contend with the painful challenges for even another moment, you just might not have to. You see, your next moment may be entirely different than your current one and it’s totally up to you – it’s in your control.

A famous philosopher who sowed the roots of existential psychology wrote: “A self, every instant it exists is in the process of becoming. For the self,” he says, “is only that which it is to become.”

Now, what that means is that the source of the difficulties, the challenges, or the misery that we live through at this point, is that we view our lives in a limited way, as a moment, like a snapshot, like a picture. We believe that what we see now, represents that’s what always has been and will always be, but everything in our world remains in the state of flux.

You see, nothing stays the same. At every single moment, there is enormous changes. There’s a shift that occurs and it may be imperceptible but it’s taking place. Did you know that the typical cell in our body dies after about 100 days or so? Isn’t that interesting? And every second, believe or not, 2.5 million red blood cells are born and in the same second, a corresponding amount of those red blood cells also die. This is the cycle of birth and death which occurs constantly.

Only when you realize that being is an inseparable part of becoming, can you free yourselves from the tendencies of servitude and anxieties, those self-defeating habits. Instead of looking at the hardships, you can look at the good things that have happened in your life.

So when things are black, dark, difficult, and they seem overpowering and it looks like nothing is changing, and it’s driving you mad and taking you to a world of insanity, you need to realize that your present challenges are not going to stay and things are going to be changing. Nothing is static, there’s only becoming.
