I once visited a country where women were sitting on the ground spinning threads for the yarn that was used to weave sheets. These sheets came from certain animals, and in order to produce wool of exceptional quality, it required a special skill. It’s interesting that these women understood that the fact that they were endowed with a special skill, it then indicated to them that they were meant to utilize those skills to do some exceptional work.

Think about this for a second, those among us who have been blessed with special talents or skills, or have received some unexpected divine gift such as, for instance, a disproportionately high return on an investment or a transaction, or anything else for that matter that puts us above and beyond, all of us should understand that the purpose of this gift is not that we should use it for selfish purposes. There is an interesting concept about a field which needs to receive the benefit of the rain. Rain benefits only the plowed fields and fields that had been sown. Early and later heavy rains also benefit the crops of the field or even the vines, but a raised field and plowed, and sown, will benefit from neither the soft rain nor the early or even the later heavy rains.

The same is also with blessings. A blessing must have a hold in something. When you give a blessing to someone, the recipient of that blessing must be able to hold on to that blessing. They must want the blessing and they must be able to hold the blessing that you’re giving them in a way that their mind, their body, they’re soul accepts. (more…)

Until recently, astronomers thought that there were 100 sextillion stars, but now, according to a new study, there may be three times that, as many as 300 sextillion stars.

Now, how did the scientists manage to overlook so many stars? It’s not like misplacing some grains of sand.

Here’s how it happened; scientists looked at our galaxy, the Milky Way, and its spiral in shape, and they assume that all galaxies had the same ratio of red dwarfs. Red dwarfs are the most common kind of stars and they’re similar to our own. But, a third of the galaxies are elliptical, not spiral. Elliptical galaxies have more red dwarf stars than predicted, 10 or even 20 times more. (more…)
