Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 716 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
I was making my way downstairs one morning, when I saw a beautiful sight – my wife sitting there on the couch, next to my daughter. Now you see, my daughter is also a mother, and there they were, both of them sitting down and speaking about life, children, husbands, things that mothers speak to daughters about. This is the “circle of life”. Children may wonder at times if their parents are truly on their side, whether they’ll ever grow up to be like their parents, or if their parents truly understand them.
But then these children grow up, and they themselves become parents. The full circle of life comes around and lets them know that whatever their parents taught them was always the right thing. So, there it was, that beautiful picture of my wife and my daughter conversing with each other. Both of them looking into each other’s eyes, finding the awakening of a passion.
Capabilities and the dreams, the passions of strength, the enthusiasm that they had shared together in raising both of their own families. The dreams became an ambition, turned into a vision, which became a goal, and then finally a truth. A reality.
It is a beautiful sight to see the “circle of life”, to see our children themselves become parents. If you are that child, and you are now becoming a parent, realize that this is a gift that you’ve been given. Realize today, the whole purpose of life is that you one day become mature enough, and strong enough, to be just like your parents.
We don’t always pay attention to what our parents say. Sometimes we forget, and at times we even fight it. But with the discipline of life, challenges, opportunities, obstacles, and things we experience, we become more mature, and we understand that all of these occasions that have gone by are actually nothing more than a pathway to becoming a parent. When the circle of life occurs, and you find yourself to be that parent, realize that you have gone through the same path, as will your children, and your children’s children.
