Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 524 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Is there something that you’re constantly worried about? Is there a situation in your life that you can’t get out of, or are you worried on a constant basis?
There are two approaches which I’ve heard that I think can reasonably be implemented in your life.
Now, I personally prefer one over the other but I’ll let you choose on which one you think is appropriate for you. If you’re stuck in a worry, Dale Carnegie said something which was quite interesting. He said, “First, ask yourself, what is the worst thing that could happen? Then prepare to accept it and then proceed to improve on the worst: It’s an interesting concept and it’s original, and it may have some opportunities there. But once you plan for the worst, then it’s time, according to what he said, to hope for the best.
This is the part, you used to have a lot of trouble with if you’ve been in trouble before. As a matter of fact, if you focus all the energy on what could go wrong, how can you overcome from this energy into becoming a positive person? But according to this, in my own interpretation, once you have analyzed the risk instead of concentrating on the things that are not good, now, you can focus on what you can do about it.
There is another approach. It is to know that the source of everything that happens is for the good, and therefore, you don’t have to plan for the worse. You see the goodness in everything that happens.
See, it’s different. On the first approach, you imagine the bad, you accept it, and you figure out a way to come out of it by knowing that in the worst case scenario, this is what will happen, but you now know about it so you get prepared.
The second approach, is the one I believe in: you don’t see the bad; you see only the good. You take this as an experience. You know that the challenge comes from good, and ultimately, only good will come out. Basically, you have to trust in yourself and this will be different.
