Check Your Own Baggage

Check Your Own Baggage

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 714 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond A wise man once said, “A person should create their environment. If he does not he should check his own baggage carefully to see whether his own affairs are in order. If he fails to create an environment, he will break and splinter. He must demand of himself, what am I doing in this world?” Ask yourself the question: What is your purpose? What is it that you were created for? And what can you do to make this world a better place? A place where everything around you becomes greater. Since you are given the power to create your own environment and create new environments, shouldn’t you be looking for this wherever you go? Accept challenges and take full responsibility. At times, you must love criticism and learn from others. You have to have good friends, be flexible, keep an open mind, and forgive yourself. You must say little and do much. You must also help one another. You have to love peace and love others just as you love yourself. You have to be hospitable. read more…
Only You

Only You

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 713 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There’s a story about employees in a company who one day reached their office and found a big sign which said, “Yesterday, the person who had been hindering your growth in this company, passed away. We invite you, please, to join all the funeral processions in the room downstairs.”

At first, the employees became sad for the death of one of their colleague. But then, after a while, they became curious. Who was this person who hindered their growth? Who could it be?

Downstairs in that room, the excitement was so great that security agents were ordered to control the crowd, and make sure that they walked one-by-one by the coffin. As they waited their turn to see the body, they thought, “Who is this person who was hindering the progress? Well, at least he died. But let’s see who it is.” read more…

Guard It

Guard It

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 712 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

We are told that when the world was created, two commandments were given: Guard and work.

What does guarding the world mean? It means making the world what it should be. The world has a purpose, and there are things to be fixed for it to become the ultimate place to live.

What about working? Working means preventing or stopping the world from being what it shouldn’t. This is really the purpose of men being on Earth: “To make the world what it should be, and prevent it from becoming what it should not.”

With these thoughts in mind you now have a different purpose. Because if this is the purpose of the world, then wherever you go, whatever you do, whatever you see, whatever you say, and whatever you think – should all be about you making the world what it should be. It is easy to know this, because the world has so many beautiful things to offer us. read more…

The Deer

The Deer

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 711 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There are great lessons to be learned by watching various things in the world. Look at a deer. The deer has a particular characteristic, its hide does not constrain its flesh. The extremely taut skin of the deer does not inhibit its growth, but on the contrary, it adapts itself and conforms to it. What this means is that the priority must always be of quality over quantity.

At times, you will have decisions to make. There are things that you have been told or that you have learned to do properly. They may seem like restrictions at first, but they are the right decisions, and you know that. Yet, you may find yourself alone; the only one doing what is right, and you might ask, “Why should I do that? I’m the only one doing it.” read more…

Times Change

Times Change

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 710 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

Often, it has been said that times change and with the changes of time, people should change. My opinion on this is, that times change but values don’t. Such as the value of gratefulness. Grateful for everything that happens in your life. That should never change, and if anything, it should become stronger. Or the value to pray daily, that doesn’t change either.

The value of knowing who you are, what you do, and the things that you’re capable of doing. Of setting standards of integrity, trust, and honesty. The concept of knowing your strengths and weaknesses while believing in yourself. Acquiring of a mentor, being honorable, living with happiness. Overcoming anxiety, controlling your anger, and understanding the difference between pride and arrogance. These values don’t change. read more…

Confused

Confused

Inspiration: Above and Beyond – Day 240

People ask:

How can I have the confidence that everything will work out for the best?

Perhaps I don’t deserve the best?

Perhaps I’ve already messed up so badly that there is no return for me?

Perhaps G-d almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, has given up on me?

What should I do? How would I know? read more…

Just One Room

Just One Room

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 239 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There is a story about a king who arrived at one of the cities in his kingdom. The king was greeted by the wealthiest man in time, who said, “I would like to ask his majesty to please stay in my spacious residence. I have allocated an entire wing so you can use it for the duration of your visit.”

The king responded in a strange way; he said, “There’s no need to give me an entire suite. One room is enough.  Just one room, but it should be completely mine.”

The rich man didn’t understand that. He said, “I’m willing to give your majesty my entire residence just so that you can stay wherever you wish.”

Again, the king turned down the man’s offer, and said, “I don’t want you to give me your entire house. I told you, I want that one room to be completely mine. That is all I need.” read more…

The Wind & The Sun

The Wind & The Sun

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 238 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

The question was asked once, “How do you fight evil?” The character, the evil, the self-pride. The self-admiration, how do you break that.

There are two ways. First is to fight it head-on and to contemplate the advantages, or disadvantages, of following through.

The second way, however, is to “elevate yourself”.

Let me illustrate with a story I once heard.

The wind and the sun once debated which one was stronger. The wind decided to show its strength, pointing at a person standing down below. It said, “Watch and see how I can blow this person’s clothes off of his body.” read more…

First Awareness

First Awareness

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 231 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

The first thing we become aware of when we wake up from our sleep in the morning is that we are “awake and alive.” That is the first awareness. It’s interesting that when we go to bed the night before, we are tired and exhausted. Some people even say they are “dead tired,” but when we wake up in the morning, refreshed in the body and soul, it is almost as if we are born again. It is only right therefore when we wake up in the morning that we thank the Creator for giving us back our soul and mind totally refreshed.

Often, we don’t realize that every single night when we go to sleep, a little bit of us goes up somewhere in the heavens to get refreshed while our body stays down here on earth. Yet in the morning, our mind, our heart, and even our soul becomes totally refreshed. read more…

Drugs

Drugs

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 214 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

I met a young man, some time ago, who had been using drugs.

I asked him the question, “What leads you to that? What did you do to fall so low that you let the drugs control your life, your mind, and everything else around you?”

This is what he said to me, “I was looking for a high… I was looking for something above and beyond. I fooled myself into thinking that I could accomplish more, and that I was so much better than everybody else. I never listened,” the young man said, “to anyone. Not to advice from my parents, my friends. And I never cared to even take the time. I kept on telling myself that I was so much greater, and so much smarter. Nothing could change me or stop me. When the drugs came along, I didn’t look at it as an ‘overtaking power’ or as a ‘new achievement’, but rather as simply one of my servants that I could order around.” read more…
