Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 855 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Interestingly enough, there are people who live in ways where they see danger everywhere. You tell them, “By the way, have you checked your email?” And they respond, “Well, I can’t check it now because I don’t have the right access around the people that I’m in”
When you ask them, “What does that mean?” They say, ” Well, I don’t want anyone to see my password.”
Have you gone and logged on to some of the projects you have? These people would often answer: “Well, I can’t do this now because I don’t want anyone else to see it.”
Or they hear news that and right away, they think that it’s a most likely terrible news.
They see things, and they think of the worst. They see danger everywhere in their lives, in the lives of others, and everything that they do is cautiously done. Everything brings harm to them.
Now, whether it’s the body or the mind, it goes in the “state of emergency”.
Interestingly enough, there’s a concept in science that’s called ‘fight or flight.’ What it does, is helps us take action for our own survival. That is when a danger is there, we immediately have to react. The problem, however, is that our brain sometimes, or at times, sees things in an unreal way; and that’s what’s going on with us. The emotions that we attack or the emotions that we think about make us see danger everywhere when in reality, it’s not a danger. It’s just a warning sign. It’s just an opportunity for you to be able to overcome that issue and it has to do a lot with the way that we’re structured; the way that we were built, the way that human beings are physically and emotionally. It is the ability for us to overcome anything.
So, am I really in danger? What’s the best way to respond to any of these situations?
Now, I’m not talking about being in a dark alley and somebody comes at you with a knife and you’re alone. That’s not what we’re talking about here. Just seeing danger by just opening up an email and reading some news or being pulled over by a policeman and thinking that you’ve committed a crime, there’s nothing wrong with that.
If you get pulled over, accept or deny what the officer has to say and deal with it. If you have to pay a ticket for something that you’ve done, then pay it. It’s as simple as that, but it doesn’t put you in a dangerous situation.
There is “not danger everywhere”; there’s actually goodness everywhere. You just have to open your eyes and see it. You have to analyze the situation and realize that what is around you are signs of warnings and often, signs of blessings. The warnings are things that you should be reminded to stay away from. The blessings are the things that you should emphasize. So don’t look at the danger everywhere.
