Eliminating Worries

Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 554 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

Some people worry about everything or it seems like it. They worry if they don’t keep their job, they’ll never be able to survive. They’re convinced that their worry is the solution to their problems. As a matter of fact, they worry about being poor, not being able to afford anything. They worry about the safety of their family or they worry about someone that they love who is not doing well. They worry and the more they worry, the more they believe that this worry is important in order to reach some happiness level at one point in time, sometimes they try different things, they even ask themselves what’s the worst thing that can happen, and they imagine going through that. They imagine noticing without judgment or worry that these things can happen. Now, none of these concepts are effective and certainly not helpful if you think about it. It is in that moment that you can lose despair. You are worried about money? Well, focus that on the fact that so far, you’ve had what you needed and so far, you’re okay. Think about that. Worried about your health? Focus on the amount of good health that you’ve had and that you’re experiencing right now. Worried about someone who is not well that they’re going to be taken away possibly? Worry about what? Think about how grateful you should be for the fact that you’ve had them in your life until now.

You see, tapping into the wellsprings of gratitude works for two reasons: first, worry is always about the future, always, not now.  If only the next hour or minute were as gratitude, it’s always about the here and now. The future is not quite in your hand, not all the time and not on all things. A writer said, “It is not hard to live through a day if you can live through a moment.” You see, moments are the makeup of the data, each and every moment, you have the opportunity to choose what you want to do, millions of moments, thousands of days can drain you from what you’ve got if you don’t pay attention, if you’re not grateful for this moment. Gratitude brings you back to the present moment and you say, “This is where I’m right now. Tomorrow may bring difficulties, challenges, obstacles but for right now, things are pretty good. If you are grateful, you will eliminate the worries because it reminds you of the abundance of the universe, how gracious, and infinitely kind the Creator of the world is, and you will probably continue and so the good will also continue to provide you with all your needs, so be grateful and stop worrying. It’s well worth it.
