Daily Wisdom  â Motivational Podcast â Day 549 â Inspiration: Above and Beyond
In the world today we live in, nothing is greater or more important, or more precious than being healthy. Healthy is at the foremost of every single human beingâs wish because without wealth, what good is it to have anything else? A person can be financially wealthy, even unbelievably endowed with everything in the world, but if they’re not healthy, what good is it? And you know, there is something about being healthy.
Recent studies have found that gratitude promotes health. Quite interesting. A scientific research shows today that positive emotions like gratitude and love have a tremendous benefit and an effect on health. It does so by strengthening and enhancing the immune system, and this, of course, enables the body to resist any disease and recover more quickly from general illnesses through the release of endorphins into the bloodstream.
You see, endorphins are the bodyâs natural painkillers. You manufacture them inside of you, each and every one of us. We are walking pharmacies, it’s a miracle of the Creator of how we have been built and conceived. Among other effects, these endorphins stimulate dilation of the blood vessels which leads to a relaxed heart.
Here’s something else which is interesting: negative emotions such as worry, anger, hopelessness, they reduce the number of endorphins which slows down the movement of disease-fighting white cells in white bloodstream; this contributes to the development of strokes and heart disease. What happens is we dump high levels of adrenaline into the bloodstream. Adrenaline, you may know, constricts the blood vessels and particularly to the heart which raises blood pressure, potentially damaging the arteries and the heart itself.
These are studies that are done by researchers to help us understand who we are and how to live a better, longer, healthy life. What this means is that the more we experience a sense of gratitude, love, peace, positive emotions, the more endorphins and the less adrenaline we pump into our system which contributes to a healthier longer life.
So count your blessings, count and bathe in them all day. Be grateful for what you have. Appreciate the people that are around you and the things that you have. Donât focus on what you donât have; focus on what you do have and look around and youâll see, the world is a beautiful place to be when you are alive.
