Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 519 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
I would like to discuss with you a very important concept about giving and sharing.
If you have an item that belongs to you, something which is of value to you and you give it to someone else, you no longer have that item. You now gave it away and you are now, lacking that item because you gave it away. But there is an exception to that: it is with a mother’s milk.
You see, the more the child drinks from the mother’s milk, the more the mother produces. Actually, if she stops giving, she stops producing.
So a mother, as she nurses her baby, produces more and more milk. The more she gives, the more she has. It’s also interesting that milk is naturally white. White represents goodness, kindness, purity, and it’s something which is of special value. The more you give to others, the more you will receive.
There is a concept, and it is called a palindrome and it’s actually in the Hebrew language. Hebrew has a word which is called v’natnu and the word itself means giving, and whether you read it from the right or the left, and even if you spell it forward or backward, it spells exactly the same word in both directions. The reason for that is because when you give, you get back. A palindrome is like the word madam in English: whether you spell it forward or backwards, it still spells the word madam. So does this word, v’natnu. It’s an interesting concept and in the Hebrew language, the word giving goes both ways, forward and backward. The reason for that is because there is a concept that when you give, you get back. Often, actually, you get a lot more back than you give. Like the mother who gives to her child but she never loses any milk. To the contrary, the more the baby sucks on the nipple, the more she gives, the more she nurses, and the more she produces. That is the beauty about giving and sharing.
Don’t be afraid to give and share everything that you’ve got, all your possessions and all the things in the world. The more you’ll give, the more you’ll have. The more you share and the more you’ll get back. Life is about giving.
Interestingly enough, it says that that is the reason why the Creator of the world wanted to have a universe. He wanted to give and share with us all the beauty and the miracles that we have in the world today; so give and share with everyone. Don’t be stingy and don’t keep it all to yourself because you don’t get to take any of it when you go.
