Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 865 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
We often focus on, in our lives, about a “closed door”. We say, this is the end of it. What am I going to do now? I lost my job. I can’t finish this project. My spouse doesn’t like me. My friends despise me. My parents want to disown me, and on, and on.
For many of us, it’s easy to get caught up in what we can’t have, can’t do, what the person we wish to be in or not. And it’s extremely disheartening to pull our heart and soul into something and then find a brick wall to stop us and make it so clear that we can’t do that thing, whatever that is. Isn’t that amazing?
And we focus on this door which is also closed and it gets us absolutely nowhere.
Now, here’s something that you need to know: all endings are also beginnings. You might not know it at the time but the fact that it is an ending process, it’s the beginning of something new. Have you ever heard of Helen Keller? She was blind. Now, Helen Keller could have spent her life being lonely while the fact that she was lying, she was deaf, and she was mute, yet instead, she attended college. She lectured and help so many people who also are blind. Throughout the world, people recognized her for what she did, she had lectures, she developed all kinds of concepts and systems. And her house, even though it burned down and the book that she had been working on for years was destroyed, she rewrote it. This was all about opening a new door.
You see, that is what this concept means. When a door closes, it’s not so much that now another one opens. When the door closes, it means that it didn’t really close; it actually opened wider.
Happiness can be defined as the wholehearted willingness to seek and find that door that needs to be broadened and opened even more, again and again, to live your life the way that you want to.
So open the door; don’t think of a door that’s being closed. No doors are ever closed, and you’re never given a test that you can’t overcome, remember that. You’re never put in a situation that you cannot always make better, never. Everything that comes to you is for a purpose and that purpose is for you to learn, to grow, and change not just yourself but the environment and the people around you. So welcome with kindness, honesty, and happiness the situations that you’re in and change them for the better. Keep the door open.
