Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 43 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

Have you ever been around people who believe that reprimanding is something which is not only absolute in their life but necessary? They believe unequivocally that admonishing, censoring, or rebuking others is of utmost importance.

It’s easy to catch a person when they’re doing something wrong. The true secret of a good life, a good education, or genuine love is to catch them when they’re doing something right. It is at that time that you can speak to them about what they’re doing by lifting them up; helping them see themselves greater than they are.

The difference between school and life is an important concept. You see, in school, we are taught a lesson then we’re given a test. In life however, it works differently. We are given a test which teaches us a lesson. Sometimes, people go through these lessons and have a hard time overcoming them. This is what you have to help them with; all of us. The truth is, everything that irritates us about others can truly lead us to a better understanding of ourselves if we’re honest about it. If we want to, if we care to; and besides, why be angry? Why be upset at the other person? Anger, first of all, doesn’t help. For every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness.

So, how does that benefit you?

Not only that, the other person can certainly use not just words of rebuke, admonition, or censorship, but rather words of love, comfort, and support. It is because they are in a time of need that they need it more than any other time or any other person.

When you see someone who’s falling, don’t just catch them; help them up and show them that you care. I promise you that by giving them your love, they will not only overcome any obstacle but learn by themselves how to be a better person. This is how they will learn. Not from the reprimand, but from the boosting up. Not from the admonition, but from the love. Not from the rebuke, but from the sincere care.

That’s what they need and you could do that, it’s within you; it’s within each and every one of us to do that at any given time with our friends, siblings, family members, colleagues, acquaintances, or even with ourselves. Let’s not be too harsh. It doesn’t help. What helps is the opposite.
