Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 559 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Life is indeed challenging. Even a doctor who tells his patient that things will go well, he himself knows that at times, he may have to face a situation that could be critical and that could be the end of life, but no one lives with despair.
We all have to think of life as being a moment in a series of moments which is part of our journey. There was a story which I read once about a person who was always afraid that he would not be able to support his family, and he didn’t know what to do. He had all these fears and then the worst happened – he got laid off and he didn’t have a job anymore. So he had plenty of time, and one day his television broke, so he wanted to fix the antenna on the roof. What he had to do was go on top of the roof to get the antenna and see what he could do to fix it. Once on the roof, he stood there, looking out to a sea of roofs throughout the whole city. Every roof represented a family, and somehow, all those families were making it and if they all could, he reasoned so could he.
You see, if you’ve ever been on a plane and you looked out the window, you could see thousands and thousands of homes. Some of them lit and some of them less lit, but all these people that you see from the plane from a bird’s-eye view, are people just like you who have to struggle and make it; and somehow they make it. So if they can make it, you can make it! These people also have obstacles that they have to overcome.
Life isn’t simple but it is good. Life isn’t easy but it is great, and the world is full of people somehow that make it, so therefore, no matter how smart, lucky or talented, most of these people are, if they can handle their responsibility even if not perfectly, at least adequately, these people can make it and so can you.
So from now on, understand that caring and being aware of what you’ve got is more important than knowing what will happen in the future. Each curveball that happens in your life, as it arrives, just do your best and use your kindness, compassion, patience, skills and abilities to overcome them. You can make it and yes you can. At times it may feel like this is the end of the road but nothing worse can happen, but you know what? The end of the road is when the person is dead. Then it is the end. Until then, there’s always a chance, there’s always an opportunity, there’s always a way, and you can do it. You can definitely do it.
