Daily Wisdom  – Motivational Podcast – Day 171 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond

There was once a story about a lone traveler who was crossing the snowy mountain late at night. He knew that if he fell asleep death would inevitably follow. He struggled bravely against his sense of sleep, which actually weighed down his eye lids; and it was slowly creeping up on him.

At this moment of crisis, his feet struck something that was lying across his path. He bent over and found that it was a human body buried beneath the snow. He was stunned by this finding.

He picked up the person and within a short period of time he found himself holding the body of this person in his arms and rubbing them. All limbs were absolutely frozen.

In order to restore some sort of life into that person, he held him close in his arms. After a short period of time, with the warmth and energy that he exerted, the person actually came back to life and was very thankful.

What a blessing.

We often have the ability and the possibility, if we want, to help another person. Saving their life can mean giving them happiness. Understand that if you want happiness you actually have to give happiness.

Happiness is something that you have within you, that you can share with others. Saving a life does not have to be a cataclysmic change out in the mountain where you find a person who is almost dead. It can be just a simple word, a smile, a kind gesture to someone else.

This in itself calls for the saving of that life, and how long did it take?

What did it cost? Very little.

So, why not be kind? Why not give? Why not share? Why not be all that you can be in the way that you were created, and make this world the most beautiful place in the universe.
