Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 776 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
Isn’t it interesting that sometimes we meet people who feel they are superior than others? It’s hard to understand the reason, but there are many people who do. There is no need to be superior, or feel superior than another.
One must be extremely humble in relation to every person. Now what that means is that you have to consider yourself less worthy than anyone else.
You might ask the question, “Why is that? Why should I consider myself less? Why not better, especially if I believe I am? Or at least equal?”
Objectively speaking, how can you consider yourself less meritable than another? Who actually at times may appear themselves to be unworthy of your own estate? What you have to bear in mind is that you should never judge anyone until you’ve actually stood in his place. Once you reach this place and you actually are in that same situation, then you will know.
We all have our own challenges. The fact that we don’t succumb to a particular temptation while another person does, doesn’t make us superior to them.
Who can measure the effect of upbringing?
The environment? Or the inborn character or the weaknesses against the temptation that anybody faces?
Who can say how they were affected by everything in their life?
We don’t know, we have absolutely no clue of why other people do what they do. But one thing we do know is what we do, that we can control. I can control myself and my environment, and I can influence others to make it better. What they do should have no effect on my actions.
If I see someone who is not in a good place, why not wish them well and help them if it’s possible to be better and reach a better place? This is the way we could make a better place for the world, and for every one of us.
It’s not a question about superior or not; it’s a question of what is your duty? What is your mission? How would you like to affect this world, while you’re here on earth for that period of time?
