Daily Wisdom – Motivational Podcast – Day 379 – Inspiration: Above and Beyond
If you want to become better or change your life, the first thing that you need to do is you need to turn away from bad, things that are evil. By turning away from evil, you will then be able to do good. Now you might ask, “Why can’t I do both?”
Well, if you keep on doing the things which are not good, it’s going to be very difficult and challenging to do the things which are good.
Let’s take, for instance, a bad habit, something of like addiction, something which is not good for you. You don’t have to stop it all the way, but you certainly have to start by making the decision that you will decrease that negative activity and replacing it with something which is good. So if you’re eating, for instance, too many foods which are not good for you, to cut all at once will be challenging, difficult, and often, impossible to achieve. But you could certainly start eating less of that particular food which is not good and start replacing it with “good” food.
So you see, turning away from things which are not good will help you turn the way towards things which are good. The difference however, lies in who’s taking the initiative. When you take the initiative and you start using your own limited resources, you must indeed, first turn away from evil and do good because it’s impossible for you to do all of this at one time. However, if you ask for Divine assistance from heaven, now things become easier. You don’t necessarily have to wait for G-d to take the initiative in order for you to take advantage of this method, but it will help. Often, many people say, “Why should I believe in G-d? And even if I do I, don’t even see G-d?”
The truth is, the times that you don’t see G-d is when He is closest to you.
Now, I’m not here to preach, or for you to be proselytized, or even for you to believe. I’m asking you however, to give yourself a chance and look at the world, and ask yourself, “Is it possible that this beautiful unprecedented, unparalleled, absolutely amazing world came of itself by itself, for itself?
Come on, you know that, there has to be a Creator; there has to be someone above and beyond that designed all of this amazing, unprecedented world? It has to be; it can’t just work by itself.
So if this is the case, then ask for Divine Providence; ask for Divine Assistance. If you don’t believe, however, at least, do the right thing and turn away from evil and do good. You will see amazing things will happen in your life, absolutely amazing.
